DAVID FERRER: ATP TENNIS PLAYER



David Ferrer born April 2, 1982 in XàbiaMarina AltaValencian Community) is a Spanish professional tennis player who lives in Valencia, Spain who is currently World No. 5 in the ATP Rankings and is the second-highest ranked Spaniard behind World No. 2 Rafael Nadal. He turned professional in 2000. Ferrer is known as a clay-court specialist, although he has had success on hard courts as well, as evidenced by his semifinal appearances at the 2007 US Open and 2011 Australian Open. He was part of the Spain Davis Cup team that won the finals in 2008, 2009 and 2011. He was also runner-up at theTennis Masters Cup in 2007.[1] He first achieved a top–10 ranking in 2006 and reached a career high ranking of no. 4.
